About
Neomano
A grab-bag of topics — and why it keeps growing.
Neomano.com is a blog I started about a decade ago. Essentially, to share the ideas I had in my head. I guess that's how many blogs begin.
Since there's no other goal than that, you'll find a soup of topics here, but I'll try to summarize the main ones: historical curiosities, technology, and micro-stories.
Neomano has been a refreshing escape for me and I hope it is one for the reader too. After more than 20 years working in technology and as a history enthusiast, I have some things to tell and now and then I write them down. Through this blog I've met people and learned a lot.
About me
My name is Edgar Landivar and I work primarily in technology. In 1998 I founded a company called PaloSanto Solutions, which was a pioneer of free software in Ecuador — probably the company with the longest history on this topic in the country.
A few years ago I stepped down from running the company and started the adventure of designing hardware. That's what I do at Yubox.com.
I've written a couple of books; I enjoy nature, social work, railroads, history and audio gear. I read a lot and I'm somewhat active on Twitter. The rest I'll confess as we go. Thanks for visiting.
